Embruns D’Ylang showcases notes of the flower with a spicy bouquet to complement
Master Perfumer Thierry Wasser was on the hunt for an exceptional ylang essence with an expressive character, when he discovered it at the Comoros archipelago in the Indian Ocean. The beautiful yellow gold, extracted from the so-called “flower of flowers” contains exotic fruity aromas with smooth, honeyed accents.
Realizing that ylang- ylang hardly ever got the lead role in a fragrance, he created Embruns D’Ylang. The fragrance evokes the bracing sea spray carried by a stormy sky onto a flower that is idyllic and enchanting in equal measure. Its’ contrast, an interweaving of woody and salty notes, subtly teased by a hint of clove.
This tenth composition nestles in the collection’s distinctive rectangular bottle, decorated with a jewellery-style metal plaque embossed with the name of the fragrance. The ultimate palpable luxury.
Embruns D’Ylang is available for $231 at Guerlain boutiques or Guerlain
